This will be Mesrop Srpazan’s first ordination of a priest in this diocese.

The Calling Service will take place on Friday, February 21 at 5:30 PM, followed by a fellowship hour in Yerevan Hall at St. Sahag Armenian Church in St. Paul, MN. The Divine Liturgy and Ordination will take place on Saturday, February 22 at 10:00 AM, followed by a formal banquet in Ararat Hall also at St. Sahag Church. The sponsoring priest will be the Rev. Fr. Hovsep Karapetyan, and the Ordination Godfather will be Avo Toghramadjian.

Dn. Serop has been serving at St. Sarkis Armenian Church in Charlotte, NC, and is a 2023 seminary graduate of the St. Nersess the Great Program for the Late Vocations.

“Going back to 2020, the time when I applied to St. Nersess Armenian Seminary, the only thing that comes to mind is the generosity of this institution in teaching and caring for the seminarians. Through St. Nersess, I could take a step in my calling, grow in knowledge of the Armenian Church teachings, and be better prepared as a leader with skills that come with that responsibility,” shares Dn. Serop.

He continued, “I am most grateful for the noble dedication of the board members, faculty, and staff. May God always bless those who work to keep St. Nersess Seminary a beacon of the Armenian Church in the West. As a future priest in the Lord’s vineyard, I pray that God enables me to spare no effort to carry forward the life of the Armenian Apostolic Church with reverence and holiness, to use all I’ve learned and experienced to lead our people to a Christ-centered life per God’s will.”
