Upcoming 2024 Graduation Ceremony

On Friday, May 17, the seminary will hold its annual graduation ceremony for its 2024 graduate, Dn. Garen Hamamjian, who will be earning his Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree from St. Nersess Seminary and St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary. Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan, Primate of the Eastern Diocese and the President of the St. Nersess Board of Directors, and Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese and Vice President of the Board of Directors, will officiate. St. Vladimir’s will be holding its commencement exercises the following day on May 18.

Dn. Garen Hamamjian hails from the Western Diocese and grew up in Los Angeles, CA, where he attended St. Leon Armenian Cathedral in Burbank. He graduated from UCLA with an undergraduate degree in Middle Eastern Studies, focusing on Abrahamic Religions and Armenian Studies.

“Now I realize it is not I who chose the church, but it is the church who has chosen me as her servant. It is through St. Nersess Seminary that the church’s call has echoed louder in my soul during my years as a seminarian,” shared Dn. Garen.

In the afternoon prior to the graduation, members of the St. Nersess Board of Directors will gather in the library for the end of the fiscal and academic year meeting.

Donations to honor the graduate and the occasion can be made online.
