The Gift that Keeps on Giving!

The Gift that Keeps on Giving!

Starting in the early 20th century and even today, companies have advertised their brand as “the gift that keeps on giving.” They use the phrase to describe their product as something that continues to provide benefits or advantages over an extended time.

Today, after more than 60 years, we appreciate that St. Nersess Armenian Seminary is “the gift that keeps on giving”, gifted to us by our founder, Archbishop Tiran Nersoyan of blessed memory, Fr. Karekin Kasparian, the original board of directors, benefactors, faculty, and staff. They transferred to our care, an infant institution that has now grown into adulthood. We are deeply grateful for
the gift they entrusted to us and which we must handle with love and devotion. We must also be committed to its stewardship and keeping it on a solid foundation, so one day we may offer it
to those who will continue to nurture and grow this “gift that keeps on giving.”

Last month, at a gala banquet, we honored the second group of twelve alumni, from the more than 60 seminary graduates serving the Armenian Church as archbishops, bishops, priests, deacons, and lay ministers, not just on this continent but in other parts of the world. We have already identified the next group of honorees for our next event, those who pursued a variety of academic programs, but who all went into ministry in the service of the Church.

During this Advent season, we give thanks to our Almighty God for his many blessings and gifts, including the gift of inspiration and vision which led our founders to establish this seminary.
We also thank you for your continued support and pray that His light continues to shine upon our beloved St. Nersess Armenian Seminary – the gift that keeps on giving!
