St. Nersess Invited to the Diocesan Assembly of the Armenian Diocese of Canada

The Armenian Diocese of Canada convened its 42nd Annual Diocesan Assembly from May 29 – 31, at St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church in Hamilton. Presided over by His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimyan, Primate, the Assembly brought together clergy and delegates from parishes across Canada. For the first time, St. Nersess Armenian Seminary was included in the discussions and presentations.

A highlight of the Assembly was a presentation by Rev. Fr. Mardiros Chevian, Dean of St. Nersess Armenian Seminary. Fr. Mardiros provided a comprehensive overview of the Seminary’s mission, academic offerings, and leadership formation programs. He also made a presentation at the Clergy Conference and had an opportunity to speak with clergy and delegates throughout his time there about the work of the seminary.

“We are looking forward to continuing to build our relationship with the Canadian Diocese,” shared Fr. Mardiros.

This summer, the Deacons’ Training Program will welcome five participants from the Canadian Diocese, and seminarian Vrej Pilavdjian will be attending their Canadian Ararat Summer Camp in August as a counselor.
