Seminary Graduate Installed as Assistant Pastor

Last Sunday, August 2, Dn. Arin Parsanian, a 2026 seminary graduate, was installed as Assistant Pastor of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church in Pasadena, CA, by Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese and Vice-President of the St. Nersess Board of Directors. Dn. Arin will be assisting Fr. Sarkis Petoyan, a seminary alumnus. Fr. Mardiros Chevian, dean, was present.

During the Divine Liturgy, seminarian Shane Janian was ordained to the diaconate by Hovnan Srpazan. Fr. Mardiros served as Dn. Shane’s sponsor during the ordination. May God watch over both Dn. Arin and Dn. Shane!

A few days prior on July 30, a youth gathering and Rest (Hanksdyan) Service took place at St. Gregory Armenian Church, where St. Nersess students Johnathan Dergazarian and Shane Janian facilitated the discussions and jamerkutyun.

During Fr. Mardiros’ visit to Pasadena, he also met with one new applicant for 2027 and two potential candidates.
