Seminarians Lead Retreat

Seminarians Lead Retreat

On November 15, the St. Nersess seminarians organized and hosted a one-day retreat for young adults. Twenty-eight participants attended in all, traveling from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states. “The light of our participants filled our hearts with joy, faith, and love,” shared seminarian Dn. Arin Parsanian.

The retreat was opened by Fr. Mardiros Chevian, dean, who also joined the group for lunch, followed by inspiring presentations by Dr. Roberta Ervine and seminarian Shane Janian. After gathering for Vespers, the group continued their fellowship into the evening around a warm bonfire, exchanging stories and laughter, and ended the retreat by praying the Rest Hour with gratitude and love for Christ.

The seminarians hope that every participant had a spiritually enriching experience and look forward to gathering again soon. They extend their heartfelt thanks to Der Mardiros Chevian, whose guidance and blessing made the retreat possible; to Dn. Levon Altiparmakian, Marian Varteresian, and Donna Sirounian for their invaluable support; and to everyone who helped bring this meaningful retreat to life.

Participant reflections included:

“The day was structured nicely, the group was great, and the fellowship was awesome. I love worshiping the Hours throughout the day together — it’s not something we get to do often.” — Timothy Aivazian

“I had an amazing time! Between meeting new people, the lectures, and chapel, I felt welcomed and at home right away!” — Roubina Bozoian

“It was amazing — like a mini getaway from a busy work life. It was spiritually filling, and I was able to see concepts from a different angle. I also loved praying Jham throughout the day and experiencing the different services.” — Celina Bozoian
