Seminarian Attends National Council of Churches Gathering

Last week, Seminarian Dn. Zareh Mirzayan, a student of the Western Diocese, represented St. Nersess Seminary at the 2024 Christian Unity Gathering in Nashville, TN, organized by the National Council of Churches (NCC). The annual gathering entitled “Equitable Futures: Paving the Way for Environmental and Economic Justice,” was held October 15 – 18 and included worship, lectures, bible studies, sermons, discussions, and a banquet. Almost 40 denominations make up this organization. Yn. Arpi Kouzouian, from Holy Trinity Armenian Church, Cambridge, MA, represented the Eastern Diocese.

“I greatly benefited from this unique opportunity to see how other faith traditions approach preaching, environmental care, and localist approaches to community problems,” shared Dn. Zareh. “Hearing about problems and solutions that other churches are facing has given me great insight into where the Armenian Church stands in today’s America.”

St. Nersess is proud to be represented at this national conference each year.
