Original Texts of Translations
(Beginning with Translations Published in Volume 14)
One of the main aims of the Saint Nersess Theological Review is to bring the treasures of Armenian Christianity and theology to a wider English-speaking audience. Through two types of translations, from “classics” of modern scholarship central to a field of inquiry and from contemporary authors writing in Armenian, SNTR encourages the scholarly study of Armenian Christainity alongside other traditions of Christian thought. “Classics of modern Armenian scholarship” introduce non-Armenian speakers to some of the foundational texts of Armenian-language scholarship on Armenian Christianity. Likewise, translations of the work of contemporary scholars working in Armenian invigorates the English-language scholarship on Armenian Christianity and helps scholars of Armenian Christianity keep abreast of the developments in Armenian language scholarship.
