Orientation Retreat Held at the Seminary

The seminary held its annual orientation retreat on September 11-13 on campus with proper “distancing”. However, the sense of spiritual and brotherly/sisterly closeness permeated. One of the topics was, “What is your brand, your rule of life?” During the discussion, the group saw how each has experienced the presence of God and how the Lord appears to us and is within us.

The retreat was led by the Rev. Fr. Yeprem Kelegian, St. Nersess Board Member, and Dr. Roberta Ervine, Professor of Armenian Studies, who guided the following attendees: Adam Bullock, Jenna Bullock, Dn. Garen Hamamjian, Julia Hintlian, Andrew Kayaian, Dn. Yervant Kutchukian, Arman Shirikyan.

The Rev. Fr. Mardiros Chevian, dean, joined the group and expressed his delight and joy in this year’s student body. The participants thanks Wilma Petrossian, the seminary’s Food Service Manager, for graciously sharing her weekend to provide the group with physical sustenance.

The retreat concluded with Divine Liturgy and a blessing of the four corners of the world outside. They prayed for unshakeable peace in the world and remembered the victims and the families of those who perished on September 11, 2001. The message was delivered by Julia Hintlian who proposed that the “glory – parrk” of the seminary this year could be “For God so loved the world.”
