Last week, Fr. Mardiros Chevian, dean, traveled to the Western Diocese to participate in their Annual Adult retreat, focused on the Power of Forgiveness. Held at a Malibu retreat center, over 90 retreatants gathered April 13-14 for presentations, prayer, meditation, and faith. Fr. Later in the week, Der Mardiros attended a youth gathering at St. Gregory Armenian Church in Pasadena, accompanied by seminarians Dn. Arin and Shane Janian and graduate Dn. Garen Hamamjian.

While in California, Fr. Mardiros met with Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese and Vice-President of the St. Nersess Board of Directors. They discussed the seminary, including current and future students.

Der Mardiros met with past seminary graduates and two potential students for the future and one who will begin study in the Fall of 2026. He also had preliminary discussions regarding a new fundraising banquet this Fall in the Bay area.
