Compelling Preaching Initiative Studio Set-up

Compelling Preaching Initiative Studio Set-up

Last week, a new studio space, funded by our Lilly Endowment’s Compelling Preaching Grant, was established. Under the direction of Arpi Nakashian, the seminary welcomed Dn. Arthur Sabounjian from Holy Translators Armenian Church in Framingham, MA, who generously volunteered his time and expertise for the initial setup.

Also on hand were Dr. Roberta Ervine and Dn. Dan Bullock who joined Dn. Arthur in building the framework of the studio in the basement of the St. Nersess Library, located in the theological center. Our gratitude to our seminary’s controller, Robin Perlmutter, for her work behind the scenes to help the project come to fruition.

In addition to setting up the main studio equipment – including cameras, lighting, and audio devices – the group has started the process of creating two different sets to record several other programs in the future. There is still much work to be done to ready the studio for our first recordings in the Fall, but we are excited to share our progress with you. Stay tuned…
